1. European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018: The Committee willconsider correspondence relating to the Scottish Government’s consent to the UKGovernment legislating using the powers under the Act in relation to thefollowing UK statutory instrument–
The Animal Health and Genetically Modified Organisms (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

2. Implication of Brexit for the agriculture sector: The Committee will take evidence from-
Sarah Millar, Head of Industry Development, Quality Meat Scotland;
Dr Carmen Hubbard, Senior Lecturer, Agriculture, School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, Newcastle University;
Jonnie Hall, Director of Policy, National Farmers Union Scotland;
Steven Thomson, Senior Agricultural Economist, Scotland's Rural College;
James Withers, Chief Executive, Scotland Food and Drink;
David Michie, Deputy Director of Soil Association Scotland, on behalf of Scottish Environment LINK;
Eleanor Kay, Policy Adviser (agriculture & forestry), Scottish Land & Estates;
Archie Gibson, Executive Director, Agrico UK.

Proposed future business


At its next meeting, on 25 September, the Committee will take evidence as part of its pre-budget/financial scrutiny on roads maintenance in Scotland.
